2012年2月索尼宣布已经完成收购爱立信持有的索尼爱立信的50%股份，索爱成为了索尼的全资子公司，索尼爱立信SonyEricsson将更名为索尼移动通信，伯特·诺德伯格(Bert Nordberg)担任总裁兼CEO。而索尼爱立信SonyEricsson,这个名字，也成为了手机业的一段历史。

爱立信公司表示已完成出售其所持有的索尼爱立信移动通信公司（以下简称“索尼爱立信”）50%股份的交易，其中包括大量知识产权交叉许可协议。2011年10月27日，索尼公司（以下简称“索尼”）和爱立信联合宣布了此项交易。此项交易完成后，索尼爱立信成为索尼的全资子公司。双方协定的交易现金金额为10.5亿欧元。
